Mig Welding vs Tig welding

Apr 02, 2018

1.What is the welding process?

A complete set of welding technological procedures and technical regulations in the welding process include: welding method, preparation before welding, assembly, welding materials, welding equipment, welding sequence, welding operation, welding process parameters, and post-weld treatment.

2.What is CO2 welding?

 Gas metal arc welding with a purity of >99.98% CO2 as the protective gas is called CO2 welding.

3. What is MAG welding?

The gas-shielded gas shielded arc welding gas is 75-95% Ar + 25--5 % CO2 (standard ratio: 80% Ar + 20% CO2), which is called MAG welding.

4. What is MIG welding?

〈1〉 Use high-purity argon Ar ≥ 99.99% as a protective gas for gas shielded welding of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and aluminum alloys, copper and copper alloys;

<2> A gas-shielded, gas-shielded, solid stainless steel welding wire using 98% Ar + 2% O2 or 95% Ar + 5% CO2 as a protective gas is called MIG welding.

<3> MIG welding with helium + argon inert gas mixture protection.

5.What is TIG welding?

Inert gas shielded arc welding with pure tungsten or activated tungsten (niobium tungsten, tantalum tungsten, zirconium tungsten, tantalum tungsten) as non-melting electrodes, abbreviated as TIG welding.

6.What is SMAW welding?

The arc welding method of manually welding the electrode is used.

7.What is carbon arc gouging?

A method of surface processing that uses a carbon rod as an electrode to generate an electric arc between the workpiece and blow the molten metal with compressed air (pressure 0.5-0.7 MPa). Commonly used to weld the roots, bevel mouth, repair defects and so on.
