Key Process Control Points
- Preheating and Interpass Temperature:
For base metal thickness < 12mm: No preheating required, interpass temperature ≤ 150℃
For base metal thickness ≥ 12mm or high restraint: Preheat to 150-250℃, interpass temperature shall be maintained consistently
- Post-weld Heat Treatment:
For components subject to alternating loads: 250℃×1h with slow cooling (to eliminate diffusible hydrogen)
For components serving at high temperatures: 650℃×2h with air cooling (to stabilize carbide distribution)
- Operational Specifications:
Adopt short arc welding; oscillation amplitude shall not exceed 2.5 times the electrode diameter
During multi-pass welding, thoroughly clean slag between weld passes to avoid slag inclusion defects
Perform 100% Penetrant Testing (PT) within 24 hours after welding
Storage and Usage Precautions
- Welding electrodes shall be stored in a drying oven at 100-120℃ with relative humidity ≤ 50%.
- Before use, electrodes must be dried at 250℃ for 1 hour, then stored in an insulated container at 80-100℃ for immediate access during application.
- The welding area shall be cleaned to Sa2.5 grade (per ISO 8501-1), with grease, scale, and contaminants completely removed.
- When ambient humidity exceeds 85% or condensation forms on the base metal surface, heating and dehumidification measures must be implemented.
