How to select welding supplies for welders
The welding protective supplies for welders mainly includes safety shoes and professional welding gloves; during welding, they should wear anti-virus masks to reduce smoke inhalation into the body; wear welding masks to directly observe the arc light without colored glasses; wear welding work clothes to avoid skin exposure as far as possible.
1. Welding gas defense mask
(1) The most basic condition is that the mask has the effect of industrial dustproof and antivirus;
(2) It can effectively protect metal smoke (such as metal iron, manganese, aluminum and chromium);
(3) The respirator is comfortable and breathable after wearing, suitable for long-time wearing;
(4) The mask is flame retardant. (this feature does not have to be satisfied)
2. Welding mask
(1) In order to prevent welding arc light and spark scald, according to the requirements of gb3609.1 welding goggles and masks, the shading lenses that meet the working conditions should be selected.
(2) There are two kinds of masks for welders: hand-held and head mounted. The shell of the mask and helmet shall be made of flame-retardant or non combustible insulating material without skin irritation. The mask shall cover the face and ears, and the structure shall be firm without light leakage.
(3) The head mounted electric welding mask is used for all kinds of arc welding or climbing welding operations, and its weight shall not exceed 560g.
(4) Auxiliary welders should choose to wear masks and protective glasses suitable for shading performance according to working conditions.
(5) For gas welding and gas cutting, the corresponding type of protective glasses should be selected according to the thickness of the welding and cutting workpiece plate.
(6) The preparation of welding and cutting, cleaning work, such as grinding the welded joint, removing the welding slag, etc., should use the anti slag glasses whose lenses are not easy to break into pieces.
3. Welder's work clothes
(1) The protective clothing used by welders should be selected according to the characteristics of welding and cutting work.
(2) Cotton canvas overalls are widely used in general welding and cutting work, and the color of overalls is white.
(3) When there is ozone and other gases produced by gas shielded arc welding under the action of ultraviolet light, the work clothes made of coarse wool or leather should be selected to prevent the welder from being scalded or temperature rising during operation.
(4) All position welding welders should wear leather work clothes.
(5) During overhead welding, in order to prevent sparks and slag from splashing to the head and shoulders, the welder should wear a towel around the neck, shoulder protectors, long sleeves, aprons and shoe covers made of flame-proof materials.
(6) The welder's work clothes should not be wet, the pocket of the work clothes should be covered by a bag, the upper body should cover the waist, the length of the pants should cover the vamp, the work clothes should not be damaged, holes and gaps, and should not be stained with oil and grease.
(7) Welding and cutting work clothes can not be made of general synthetic fiber fabrics.
4. Welding gloves
(1) The welder's gloves shall be made of wear-resistant and radiation heat resistant leather or cotton canvas and leather, and the length shall not be less than 300 mm. They shall be sewn firmly, and the welder shall not wear damaged and wet gloves.
(2) When the welder works in the welding place which may conduct electricity, the gloves should be made of insulating material (or additional insulating layer) and can only be used after passing the withstand voltage 5000v test.
5. Welder safety shoes
(1) Welder protective shoes shall have insulation, heat resistance, nonflammability, wear resistance and antiskid performance.
(2) The rubber sole of protective shoes worn by electric welders shall pass the 5000v withstand voltage test. For example, when welding in flammable and explosive occasions, the sole shall not have spikes to avoid friction sparks.
(3) When welding and cutting on the ground with accumulated water, the welder shall wear waterproof rubber shoes that have passed the voltage withstand test of 6000V.
6. Other protective articles for welding and cutting
(1) Arc protection room or shield shall be set in welding and cutting workplace due to arc radiation, slag splashing and affecting the surrounding sight. The shield shall be made of non combustible material, its surface shall be painted with black or dark gray paint, and its height shall not be less than 1.8m, and there shall be 25cm air gap in the lower part.
(2) The safety belt used by the welder when climbing or welding in the place where the welder may fall shall meet the requirements of gb6095-2009 safety belt, and the hook of the safety rope on the safety belt shall be hung firmly.
(3) The safety helmet for welder shall meet the requirements of GB2811-2007.
(4) Tool bags and buckets used by welders shall be intact without holes, and tools commonly used by welders such as hand hammer, slag shovel and wire brush shall be firmly connected.
