Nickel Welding Wire

Type:Nickel Welding Wire

Product name: ERNi-1

Material: pure nickel

In the welding industry, selecting the right wire is crucial for achieving high-quality and durable joints. For applications involving nickel based alloys and dissimilar metals, ERNi-1 is the ideal choice.

This Nickel Welding wire material offers excellent welding performance, beautiful weld shape, and outstanding mechanical properties. Its unique composition, primarily consisting of nickel and titanium, contributes to these benefits.

The high nickel content provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the addition of titanium helps control porosity in the weld metal.

This makes ERNi-1 suitable for a variety of welding processes and dissimilar joints, ensuring strong and reliable connections in demanding environments.

CHARACTERISTICS:

1.This Pure Welding wire has a nominal composition of 96% nickel and 3% titanium and is ideal for welding applications requiring high nickel content and excellent corrosion resistance.

2.Adding sufficient amounts of Ti can significantly reduce the formation of pores during welding, resulting in denser and more reliable welds and improved mechanical properties.

3. It has stable arc, beautiful weld formation and good iron fluidity, ensuring excellent welding process performance, smooth operation, high welding quality, less spatter and good penetration.

APPLICATION:

This type of welding is suitable for welding industrial pure nickel forgings and castings, such as alloys 200 and 201, as well as nickel-plated steel. It meets the standards of ASTM B160, B161, B162, and B163, and is also applicable to UNS No. N02200 and N02201. In addition to these, it can also be used for welding dissimilar materials, such as nickel-based alloys and stainless steel, as well as for surface surfacing.

POWER POLARITY:

ERNi-1 is a pure Nickel Welding wire, mainly used for gas tungsten arc welding, metal arc gas shielded welding and submerged arc welding of pure nickel NI200 and pure nickel NI201 alloys, and can also be used for steel cladding. During the welding process, ERNi-1 usually uses direct current reverse connection (DC-), which can provide a more stable arc, reduce arc drift and instability during welding, thereby improving welding quality, while improving welding efficiency and reducing welding time.

WELDING REQUIREMENTS:

1.Before starting the ERNi-1 welding wire welding process, the base metal and welding wire must be thoroughly cleaned to remove any contaminants (such as dirt, oil or oxides). In addition, the welding equipment (including the power source) is carefully adjusted to ensure the correct settings for the specific welding procedure.

2. The shielding gas used in nickel based alloy welding should be pure argon (Ar). This inert gas effectively prevents atmospheric contamination and ensures high weld quality. The flow rate of the shielding gas should be set according to the manufacturer's recommendations to maintain a stable arc and prevent porosity.

3.The temperature of the base metal between weld passes should be maintained below 100°C. This helps prevent problems such as grain coarsening or cracking in the weld. Allow the base metal to cool sufficiently between weld passes or use cooling methods to keep the interpass temperature within acceptable limits.

USAGE OF ERNI-1 WELDING WIRE:

1.TIG

  • Preparation before welding: Clean the workpiece thoroughly before welding and use 100% argon protection.
  • Welding parameters: Set appropriate welding current and voltage according to the wire diameter and workpiece thickness.
  • Welding operation: Maintain appropriate arc length after arc initiation, and avoid contact between the wire and the tungsten electrode when filling the wire.
  • Post-weld processing: Clean the weld and check the quality.

2.MIG:

  • Preparation before welding: Clean the workpiece thoroughly before welding and use 75% Ar + 25% He mixed gas for protection.
  • Welding parameters: Set appropriate welding current and voltage according to wire diameter and workpiece thickness.
  • Welding operation: Maintain a stable wire feeding speed after arc initiation to ensure uniform weld.
  • Post-weld treatment: Clean the weld and check the quality.

3.SAW

  • Preparation before welding: Clean the workpiece thoroughly before pure nickel welding wire and use appropriate flux to cover the welding area.
  • Welding parameters: Set appropriate welding current and voltage according to the wire diameter and workpiece thickness.
  • Welding operation: During welding, the wire ignites the arc under the flux cover to ensure that the flux evenly covers the molten pool.
  • Post-weld treatment: Clean the flux and slag shell on the weld surface and check the weld quality.
